Gilbert Farmer's Market is getting better with age. October 1st will be the market's 6th year running in Gilbert. Located in Gilbert's Heritage District, just west of the iconic water tower, the Farmer's Market is open every Saturday. The market always features local, chemical free, organic produce from many local farmers, farm fresh eggs, meat, cheese, bread, sweets, coffee and tea, sauces, seasonings, and many other locally made artisan products. Starting this Fall, in October, the market will expand to 80+ vendors plus food trucks. Over 10 local farmers will be attending selling along with 6-10 food trucks and hot food vendors, so plan on enjoying breakfast while you shop. Bring the kids...the market is kid friendly and will be face painting, twisting balloons, scavenger hunting and you may even run into a princess willing to tell a story. There is fun for everyone at the Gilbert Farmer's Market.
This is a year-round open air family-friendly and pet-friendly market featuring local Arizona grown seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and plants, artisan baked goods, natural pork, beef and fish, along with live music.
24-hour Farm Stand at the Farm at Agritopia. The Farm Stand is a 24-hour farmers market run on the honor system. Buyers pick up organically grown vegetables, fruits and eggs, and leave cash or a check in a drop box.
Gilbert Art Walk is a Popular Event
Gilbert Art Walk is a bi-weekly art gathering that takes place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. from October – March. Offering an array of artistic styles for exhibition and sale, this casual and eclectic event offers locals and tourists an opportunity to discover emerging and well-known artists alike.
Art Walk is held at Water Tower Park, located at the intersections of W. Page Avenue and N. Ash Street in Gilbert.
Downtown Concert Series: Throughout the year, Gilbert hosts the Downtown Concert Series. Performances are held at Water Tower Plaza in the heart of Gilbert’s Heritage District – check it out and see a variety of music genres. All shows start at 6:30 p.m.
Veterans Day Parade in Gilbert
Veterans Day Ceremony: Celebrate American pride this Veteran's Day. Display your patriotism in full glory by honoring our veterans. This impressive ceremony features presentation of colors, local school marching bands performing, special guest speakers, food and refreshments, and much more.
Gilbert Days Events: The celebration of Gilbert’s heritage is packed full of activities for Gilbert residents and guests, including the Gilbert Days Parade, Gilbert Days Festival, Gilbert Days 5K and 1 Mile Run, and Gilbert Half Marathon and 10K Run.
Dream Days: Help us celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. by enjoying this multiple day event. The free events will include workshops, inspirational speakers, a youth art competition/exhibit, and fun, educational entertainment.
Riparian Preserve Star Gazing: The Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch has the only Valley astronomy observatory open to the public every Friday and Saturday evening from dusk until 9:30 p.m., subject to weather conditions. Spend a quiet night star gazing through the 16" diameter, modified Cassegrain-style telescope at the observatory, where you can also see Saturn's rings, craters on the moon, far-off galaxies, and many other amazing celestial sights.
Enjoy a Day at the Riparian Preserve
Gilbert Outdoors Expo: Prep your best camouflage and boots for the Gilbert Outdoors Expo at the Riparian Preserve. Brush up on various outdoor activities and learn new skills – fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, and much more. This two-day event draws exhibitors and attendees statewide with an expected attendance of over 4,000 people.
Ka-POW! Superhero Run: Each spring in Gilbert (typically early to mid-March), Banner Health Center presents the Ka-POW! Superhero Adventure Run. Strap on your capes and squeeze into your favorite tights – this is a costumed run fit for the whole family. The Adventure Run course includes more than 20 challenging obstacles like Spiderman Tower, Iron Man Crawl, Thor Tires, and the Wonder Woman Wall – and don’t miss Aquaman’s Waterslide!
Children Dance at the Global Village Festival
Global Village Festival: Enjoy a multi-cultural celebration fit for all ages in Gilbert. The Global Village Festival is an annual event held at the Gilbert Civic Center North Campus. This event brings together local community groups in an open and edifying way – what better way to learn a bit more about your neighbors.
Non-profits, service organizations, schools, community members, and schools are all invited to partake in this family-first event. Enjoy contemporary and traditional forms of dance, music, arts and crafts, and food from countries and cultures far and near. The Global Village Festival's mission is to “create opportunities for individuals and communities to celebrate, share, and sustain the arts and the rich cultural traditions of countries from around the world.”
Want to eat like the locals? Check out the Food Truck Feastival featuring anywhere from 10 to 20 food trucks, live music, and boutique vendors. Visitors can get their fix of inexpensive culinary innovations in a fun, social setting.
